Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 215 AM EDT Sat Apr 11 2020 Valid 00Z Sun Apr 12 2020 - 00Z Sun Apr 19 2020 Models and ensembles continue to show good agreement on an upper level low developing well north of Hawaii this weekend, which should drive a cold front through the island chain. Guidance suggests the axis of deepest moisture associated with this feature should remains primarily east of Hawaii, so any showers should favor windward areas into early next week. By the middle of next week, as the upper level system pulls away, models show consensus that upper ridging from the west-central Pacific should begin to build back east across the state. As the resulting surface high pressure builds to the north, this should allow for resumption of more typical light to moderate trade winds. This pattern should continue through the remainder of the week and into next weekend. Santorelli
