Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 137 AM EDT Wed Apr 15 2020 Valid 00Z Thu Apr 16 2020 - 00Z Thu Apr 23 2020 After a period of unsettled weather on Tuesday, models agree that the forecast should dry out as the upper level trough pulls away and ridging builds back east across the state. As the resulting surface high pressure builds to the north, this should allow for resumption of more typical light to moderate trade winds lasting through the upcoming weekend. By early next week, another cold front may begin to approach the islands, settling and eventually dissipating over the northernmost islands. Expect the low level winds to shift to a more south/southeasterly direction ahead of the front and bring a few showers back to the northern half of the state. Santorelli
