Upper level ridging building east across the state will continue
light to moderate trade winds and typical windward showers into
the weekend. By Sunday/early next week, a cold front may begin to
approach the islands from the north, settling and eventually
dissipating over the northernmost islands. This should shift low
level winds to a more south/southeasterly direction ahead of the
front although any meaningful rainfall should remain north of
Hawaii. Easterly trade winds return by next Tuesday and last
through the end of the week and surface high pressure again tries
to build back in.
