Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 319 AM EDT Fri May 15 2020 Valid 00Z Sat May 16 2020 - 00Z Sat May 23 2020 Models and ensembles continue to show good consensus that a mid/upper-level ridge should remain anchored over Hawaii and much of the Central Pacific through the next week, strengthening with time. Surface high pressure north of the state should keep a typical trade wind pattern in place. Moisture embedded within the flow ahead of a decaying frontal boundary early next week may favor an increase in shower activity, though models continue to show this activity should mainly focus along windward terrain locations. Heavy rainfall probabilities are low as the upper level ridge should be located overhead during that time. Santorelli
