Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 309 AM EDT Tue May 19 2020 Valid 00Z Wed May 20 2020 - 00Z Wed May 27 2020 The forecast over Hawaii should remain fairly quiet for at least the next week. Models and ensembles continue to show good consensus that a mid/upper-level ridge should remain anchored over Hawaii and much of the Central Pacific. Strong surface high pressure well north of the state will maintain moderate to locally breezy trade winds over the islands. This will allow for a few showers across the islands, though mostly will favor windward or mountain locations. By early next week, models indicate a cold front moving southward towards the islands, but any moisture/precipitation should remain north of the state, at least through next Tuesday. Santorelli
