Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 317 AM EDT Sat Jun 20 2020 Valid 00Z Sun Jun 21 2020 - 00Z Sun Jun 28 2020 Breezy trade winds across Hawaii today should weaken on Sunday and continue through next week as surface high pressure slips to the northeast of the state and a cut-off upper low meanders west of the islands. The models continue to indicate that implications for sensible weather across Hawaii with this system seem relatively minor, with mainly scattered windward showers possible within a relatively dry airmass (PWs only around 1 to 1.5 inches). This should limit the potential for any heavy rain. Models and ensembles agree that by late week/next weekend, this upper low weakens, high pressure re-establishes itself north of Hawaii, and a normal breezy trade wind pattern resumes. Santorelli
