Weaker trade winds across Hawaii should continue through the first
half of the week as surface high pressure slips to the northeast
of the state and a cut-off upper low meanders west of the islands.
The models continue to indicate that implications for sensible
weather across Hawaii with this system seem relatively minor, with
mainly scattered windward showers possible. Models and ensembles
agree that by mid to late week, this upper low weakens and high
pressure re-establishes itself north of the state. Expect normal
breezy trade winds to briefly resume, before weakening again next
weekend as another easterly wave/upper low moves towards the
state. This may bring an uptick in moisture and showers, but any
heavy rainfall potential remains limited.
