A favored composite of reasonably well clustered guidance offers
light to moderate holiday weekend trades as a weakening surface
trough approaches from the northeast, but a shower fueling lead
band of deep moisture exits the state. Trades are expected to
gradually build to moderate to brisk levels this week as strong
Pacific high pressure settling to the north of the state extends
influence southward. Shower focus should return more to
windward/mauka areas, though some rain may stray leeward. Guidance
suggests another band of enhanced moisture may approach later week
to better fuel shower activity under a mean weakness aloft, with
unsettled conditions lingering into next weekend.
