An upper low will move westward to the north of the area before
drifting southwestward to near 170W by late in the week. Upper
ridging is forecast to build over the northeastern Pacific next
weekend which could act to increase trades. Models and ensembles
show generally light windward/mauka showers amid a rather typical
trade wind pattern this week, perhaps with an increase in moisture
for Tuesday. A general model consensus should suffice. Remnants of
Cristina may approach 155W by next Sat but the ensemble consensus
takes it to the north of the Big Island, along with any rainfall
enhancement it may have by then.
