An upper low to the north of the area will move westward then
southwestward to near 170W by late in the week. Upper ridging is
forecast to build over the northeastern Pacific by the weekend and
nose into the region from the northeast, which will increase
trades. Models and ensembles show generally light windward/mauka
showers amid a rather typical trade wind pattern this week,
perhaps with an increase in moisture for late Tuesday/early
Wednesday. A general model consensus should suffice. Remnants of
Cristina are forecast to stay north of the Big Island around 25N
with little affect on the state as it should become detached from
deep tropical moisture along the ITCZ.
