Weakness aloft will drift to the west of the area through the
week, with typical trades and windward showers that may be
enhanced on Tuesday into early Wednesday with the passage of
higher precipitable water values. Upper ridging is forecast to
build over the northeastern Pacific by the weekend and nose into
the region from the northeast, which will increase trades. A
general model consensus should suffice. Remnants of Cristina are
forecast to stay north of the Big Island around 25N with little
affect on the state as it will become detached from deep tropical
moisture along the ITCZ. By next week, upper ridging will try to
flatten E-W over the mid-latitudes which may allow a weakness to
slip toward the are from the northeast.
