Light to moderate trades are expected to persist across Hawaii
over the next week. A broad upper-level weakness, initially across
the western half of the island chain, is forecast continue
drifting slowly westward this weekend, eventually moving away from
Hawaii by early next week. Scattered windward showers are expected
through this time frame, supported by PWs in the 1.20-1.60 inch
range. Toward the middle of next week, a somewhat drier air mass
(PWs in the 1.2-1.6 inch range) is expected to spread across
Hawaii, leading to somewhat sparser shower activity through late
next week. In general, model/ensemble solutions were comparable
through the next week, with no major differences noted.
