A favored guidance composite shows a weakening of trades over the
next few days as an upper trough amplifies to the north of the
state and an associated cold front approaches to the northwest of
the islands. Expect a transition from modest windward terrain
showers to areas favored by land/sea breeze convergence by
midweek. Showers should be limited, but there is a growing signal
for some tropical moisture to feed into the islands from the
east/southeast late week/next weekend in response to the
establishment of a weakness aloft. This could spread and fuel some
heavier downpours.
