Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 302 AM EDT Fri Oct 2 2020 Valid 00Z Sat Oct 3 2020 - 00Z Sat Oct 10 2020 The overall weather pattern across Hawaii and adjacent marine areas will likely feature relaxed trade winds over the next several days as the pressure gradient is a little weaker than normal, with the surface highs remaining well to the north of this region. A cold front approaches from the northeast by Monday and creates a weakness in the ridge axis, and stronger winds to the north of the front, which should remain north of the Islands. Hurricane Marie is not expected to affect the state as its eventual remnants should pass well to the northeast, with perhaps some elevated easterly swells. Most of the deep tropical moisture from the ITCZ should also remain well to the south of the Islands, with some occasional trade wind induced showers across the favored terrain. Hamrick
