Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 325 AM EDT Sat Oct 3 2020 Valid 00Z Sun Oct 4 2020 - 00Z Sun Oct 11 2020 The overall weather pattern across Hawaii and adjacent marine areas will likely feature relaxed trade winds over the next several days as the pressure gradient is a little weaker than normal, with the surface highs remaining well to the north of this region, centered around 40 degrees north. A weak cold front approaches from the northwest by Monday and creates a weakness in the ridge axis, with a weak inverted trough. However, this is not expected to be a big deal in terms of potential rainfall. Hurricane Marie is not expected to affect the state as its eventual remnants should pass well to the northeast, with perhaps some elevated easterly swells. Most of the deep tropical moisture from the ITCZ should also remain well to the south of the Islands, with some occasional trade wind induced showers across the favored terrain. Otherwise no major weather systems are anticipated over the next week. Hamrick
