Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 923 AM EDT Mon Oct 05 2020 Valid 00Z Tue Oct 06 2020 - 00Z Tue Oct 13 2020 A fairly quiet and rather dry weather pattern is expected across Hawaii and adjacent marine areas into this weekend. Lighter than normal trade winds (with some sea and land breezes developing at times) continue through midweek as a weak inverted trough persists over the Islands between high pressure centers northeast and northwest of the Islands. The surface high center to the northwest weakens as it drifts east between 30 and 40 degrees north Friday through Sunday allowing a return of moderate, but mainly dry trade winds. The EC mean remains stronger with this surface high center than the GEFS mean. Remnants of what is now Tropical Storm Marie should approach the Islands from the east early next week, with perhaps some elevated easterly swells and some precipitation. Deep tropical moisture from the ITCZ is expected to remain well south of the Islands, around 10 degrees north through this next week. Hamrick/Jackson
