Expect some showers into Monday with a modest moisture axis
holding over the islands underneath an amplified upper trough
ejecting to the northeast of the state. Trades return Tue/Wed in a
pattern with mainly terrain based showers, especially as some
deeper moisture feeds in from the southeast. Models and ensembles
remain the good agreement and highlight development of a potent
closed low/organized surface low to the northwest of the islands
Thu/Fri. A southward trailing cold front will be slow to approach
the western islands as upper ridging builds over the state, but a
deepening lead moisture feed near the western islands will fuel
showers/heavy downpours. Southeastward veered and weakened trades
should then back easterly and moisture decrease over the state
with next weekend closed low ejection.
