Returning trades over the next couple of days favor a pattern with
mainly terrain based showers, especially as some deeper moisture
feeds in from the southeast. Models and ensembles remain the good
agreement and highlight development of a potent closed
low/organized surface low to the northwest of the islands Thu/Fri.
A southward trailing cold front will be slow to approach the
western islands as upper ridging builds over the state. Deepening
lead moisture may feed into the western islands to fuel
showers/heavy downpours late week into the weekend as the front
stalls and southeast veered/weakened trades develop over the
islands. Trades should back easterly and strengthen with weekend
closed low ejection as high pressure settles to the northeast of
the state.
