Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 112 AM EST Sat Nov 7 2020 Valid 00Z Sun Nov 8 2020 - 00Z Sun Nov 15 2020 The weather pattern for this weekend will be featured with a large upper ridge centered to the northeast of Hawaii, and an amplifying trough to the west of the state that evolves into a closed low near 175W, with the GEFS mean slightly stronger with it. Meanwhile, the upper ridge along with the surface high retrogrades westward some by the middle to end of next week, with good overall model agreement on this. In terms of sensible weather, the building high north of the state will tend to increase the Trades with windy conditions at times for the beginning to middle of the week. The upper low and surface trough are expected to be far enough west to not cause a heavy rainfall threat, with mainly terrain induced showers for much of the forecast period. There may more numerous showers by next Friday as a weak upper low could approach the Big Island from the east. Hamrick
