Latest model and ensemble solutions are quite well clustered,
bolstering forecast confidence for the next week. High pressure to
the north and northeast of the state will support brisk island
trades through early week before transitioning through moderate
levels mid-late week. Upper impulses will act upon lingering
island moisture to support daily showers, mainly for windward
terrain/Mauna areas. There also remains a good guidance signal
that amplified upper trough passage over and to the north of the
state will force a trailing cold front through the islands from
the northwest Friday into Saturday. This will tap deeper
moisture/instability to fuel some enhanced showers/convection
prior to ushering in drier post-frontal flow for the rest of next
weekend.
