Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 105 AM EST Thu Dec 10 2020 Valid 00Z Fri Dec 11 2020 - 00Z Fri Dec 18 2020 A col will develop within the surface ridge to the north of Hawaii over the next couple of days, owing to a cold front approaching from the northwest and then stalling near the northwestern Islands. By the weekend, the subtropical high builds in briefly near 30 degrees north before the next disturbance passes by well to the north, with the 12Z ECENS mean more progressive than the 18Z GEFS mean by Sunday. Both of the ensemble means indicate a weak pressure gradient for the first half of next week. This will equate to a relatively uneventful weather pattern for Hawaii through the middle of next week with the Trades slightly weaker than normal for much of the forecast period. There is some hint in the guidance for some more widespread showers across portions of the state on Monday and into Tuesday ahead of an upper level trough. Hamrick
