Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 212 AM EST Sat Dec 26 2020 Valid 00Z Sun Dec 27 2020 - 00Z Sun Jan 03 2021 Guidance still reasonably agrees that strong high pressure bridging to the north and settling to the northeast of the state will maintain moderate to brisk island trades through the weekend. Impulse energy and a lingering and moisture pooling shearline may enhance windward terrain/mountain rainfall today. Trade support should gradually weaken through early and mid next week in a relatively drier pattern with decreasing moisture. There is a slowly emerging guidance signal for uncertain late next week impulses to work over the state as an approaching front stalls off the western islands. Trades may also return then as new high pressure bridges to the north of the state. Schichtel
