Upper ridging will remain over the island chain through Friday,
promoting a rather quiet pattern. Weak trades Tuesday will pick up
again Wednesday into Thursday, only to weaken again Friday. With
precipitable water values between about 0.8-1.1 inches, light
windward and mountain showers are forecast this week. Ensembles
indicate troughing dipping into the area Saturday, associated with
a surface front that will move into the area. Weak trades will
turn northeasterly as the boundary sinks through, though it
appears most of the moisture should stay east of Hawai'i. However,
with the upper feature perhaps sinking right over the state, will
need to monitor shifts in the moisture pattern. For now, a general
model blend should suffice with good agreement overall.
