Guidance overall agrees that a well defined cold front and
supporting/amplified upper trough approaching the islands will be
accompanied by some moderate to heavy rainfall/thunderstorms. The
front and enhanced instability/moisture will work progressively
through the islands leading into a drier period later week and
over the weekend. However, expect some lingering showers over the
Big Island in proximity to the slow to dislodge main upper
low/trough. System approach from the west early-mid next week may
favor deeper moisture return and the potential for some enhanced
showers.
