Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 247 AM EST Sun Feb 07 2021 Valid 00Z Mon Feb 08 2021 - 00Z Mon Feb 15 2021 Mainly dry and cool conditions should prevail for the remainder of the weekend behind a departing cyclone. In its wake, a low pressure wave developing on the next front will approach from the northwest by Monday. Models agree that this developing wave will pass well to the north of Hawaii. There is also a drying trend with respect to the shower activities associated with the trailing cold front which will likely move across Hawaii on Tuesday. Meanwhile, an axis of heavy rain associated with the previous front should stay east of the Big Island on Tuesday before departing further to the east. Towards the end of next week, there are good model signals for an upper low to form east of Hawaii but with the relevant precipitation staying over the ocean. Kong
