Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 243 AM EST Thu Feb 11 2021 Valid 00Z Fri Feb 12 2021 - 00Z Fri Feb 19 2021 Mostly clear conditions across Hawaii will gradually give way to increasing moisture level coming in from the east during the next couple of days. There continues to be very good model agreement for an upper low to continue developing east of Hawaii and retrograde toward or passing to the south the state later in the weekend and into early next week. The associated moisture should bring an increasing chance of showers from east to west across Hawaii each day next week. Meanwhile, the next cold front is forecast approach the region from the northwest. Models are showing good agreement that the front will be near the western islands by Wednesday. There are model signals indicating heavier rainfall developing near the western islands on Wednesday as the front becomes nearly stationary and interacts with the moisture associated with the retrograding upper low.
