A retrograding upper low will situate itself south and west of
Hawaii early this week, while a cold front approaches from the
north and eventually stalls across the northern/westernmost
islands. Organized, potentially locally heavy, rains are expected
along and ahead of this front, mainly from Kauai westward as the
boundary taps moisture associated with the upper low south of the
state. By the middle of next week and beyond, moderate to breezy
trades should return with showers tending to favor windward and
mountain areas.
