A succession of strong surface highs to the north of the state
will support brisk to windy trades during the period.  Guidance
suggests that each high may be a little weaker than its
predecessor but also with a general trend toward a slightly
farther south track.  As a result any slackening in the trades
should be gradual and modest.  Within the pattern that will favor
windward and mountain rainfall focus (though with some moisture
straying to other areas at times), the best signal for heavier
rainfall will be over the eastern islands during the weekend. 
This enhancement will be from a combination of moisture that moves
into the area from the southeast and a persistent east-west upper
weakness that could contain one or more embedded lows.  Consensus
shows a drier trend after the weekend as precipitable water values
decrease.  However details vary on specifics of weak upper
troughing that could remain over the area for at least part of the
week, so it will take additional time to resolve rainfall
tendencies for next week in greater detail.
