Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 321 AM EDT Tue Mar 23 2021 Valid 00Z Wed Mar 24 2021 - 00Z Wed Mar 31 2021 Trade winds should shift more southerly in advance of an approaching cold front which appears to stall for a period of time Wednesday into Thursday across the northern islands. Moisture will be pulled northward ahead of the front resulting in increased rain chances across much of Hawaii, with the best chance for any type of enhanced rainfall near or along the front. Easterly and breezy trades should return by late this week through next weekend while the front gets dragged westward and weakens as the upper system lifts to the north and east. General troughiness hangs on west of Hawaii into next weekend though which keeps rain chances elevated across the western islands. The guidance as a whole shows good agreement on the overall setup for the next week, but continued spread on the details. Therefore, the best approach would likely be towards a consensus solution at this time. Santorelli
