Guidance shows a modest rebound in moisture,showers and light
trades this weekend into Monday as a slow moving upper trough/low
spins to the northeast of Hawaii and as associated shortwave
energy rotates down over the islands. A favored guidance composite
suggests that ample mid-latitude upper trough amplification to the
north of the state through next midweek will eject the upper
trough and low to yield a period of drier conditions for the
islands. Moisture and showers will increase though by later next
week as a front moves into the state from the north. Meanwhile,
high pressure building into the central Pacific then supports
increasing trades, returning remaining shower focus to
windward/mountain areas.
