Models and ensembles agree that strong high pressure cells
bridging to the north then northeast of the state will support
brisk island trades for much of this week. Upper troughing to the
northeast of the state through early week and lingering island
moisture should support a mainly windward terrain/mountain shower
focus pattern. Rainfall should be generally modest and moisture
may gradually decrease the rest of the coming workweek, but there
is an emerging guidance signal for a return of deeper tropical
moisture and showers into the Big Island from the southeast by
next weekend.
