There is good global model agreement on subtropical ridge to the
northeast of Hawaii strengthening as it expands and shifts
westward today through Sunday/July 4 before stalling well near
40N/170W Monday through Thursday. This pattern will allow the
trade winds to progressively increase to moderate levels across
the islands by Saturday and renew windward terrain/mountain
focusing showers through the weekend. Continued moist trade flow
in the stalled pattern keeps at least some shower chances for
windward locations into the latter part of next week.
