A strong subtropical ridge expands as it shifts further west
through Tuesday before stalling and slowly weakening through
Friday. Then the next ridge shifts west from California with a
surface ridge approaching the Island by Sunday. Lower strength
trade winds persist through the week, increasing slightly ahead of
the surface ridge on Sunday. This somewhat moist trade flow
maintains widely scattered windward terrain/mountain focusing
showers through the weekend.
