High pressure centered at the mid-latitudes dominates the
north-central Pacific for the next week with a surface ridge
currently off the California coast approaching the Islands Monday.
Lower strength trade winds persist across the Hawaiian Chain today
before slowly increasing in magnitude ahead of the surface ridge
this weekend the remaining nearly moderate in magnitude through
midweek. The somewhat moist trade flow maintains widely scattered
windward terrain/mountain focusing showers through the weekend
before becoming more intermittent early next week with briefly
drier air accompanying the surface ridge passage Monday.
