Guidance still shows potential for a periodically wet period this
week with multiple uncertain areas of enhanced moisture
potentially contributing to increased rainfall slated to spread
statewide under a lingering upper weakness/trough as fueled early
week by remnant tropical moisture from Guillermo. By Thursday,
guidance varies with another area of moisture that could reach the
state associated with a disturbance being monitored by the
National Hurricane Center now over the tropical Pacific near 132W.
Meanwhile, high pressure bridged to the north of the state
suggests moderate to brisk mean trades this week may additionally
focus rainfall over windward terrain. Overall, a model and
ensemble composite seems reasonable for these systems in a pattern
with lowered predictability linked to weakened tropical system
influences.
