Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 313 AM EDT Sun Aug 01 2021 Valid 00Z Mon Aug 02 2021 - 00Z Mon Aug 09 2021 Upper ridging will strengthen to the northwest of Hawai'i and continue westward through the week. Heights will remain above normal through the period, despite a weakness moving in from the east. With mid-level moisture remaining rather low (PWs around 1-1.5" and 700-400/300-850mb RH 5-20%), most of the area will remain drier than normal and generally lighter windward/mauka showers. Trades will remain breezy as the surface high to the northeast dips toward 33N around midweek. By then, a few more showers may be expected over the region beneath the weakness aloft. Farther east, Hurricane Hilda and T.D. Nine-E may push toward (or beneath) the area but there remains a large amount of spread in track and evolution (inclusing possible interaction between the two systems). Fracasso
