Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 326 AM EDT Tue Aug 03 2021 Valid 00Z Wed Aug 04 2021 - 00Z Wed Aug 11 2021 Strong upper ridging to the west of Hawai'i will continue westward through the week. Heights will remain mostly above normal through the period, though perhaps slightly below normal early next week. With mid-level moisture remaining rather low (PWs around 1-1.5" and 700-400/300-850mb RH 5-20%), most of the area will remain drier than normal and see generally lighter windward/mauka showers. Trades will remain breezy through the week into the first part of the weekend as the surface high to the northeast dips toward 33N Wed-Thu then back toward 40N this weekend and 45N next Tue. Farther east, Hurricane Hilda and the remnants of T.D. Nine-E may push toward the area but there remains a large amount of spread in track and evolution (including possible interaction between the two systems/sources of moisture). By next week the moisture associated with the system(s) may approach the longitude of the Big Island but it is unclear if it will pass to the north or not. Fracasso
