Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 319 AM EDT Wed Aug 04 2021 Valid 00Z Thu Aug 05 2021 - 00Z Thu Aug 12 2021 Weak troughing will pass through the region over the next few days from east to west, but with mid-level moisture remaining rather low (PWs around 1-1.5"), most of the area will remain drier than normal and see generally lighter windward/mauka showers. Trades will remain breezy through the rest of the week into the first part of the weekend as the surface high to the northeast dips toward 34N tomorrow then back toward 40N this weekend and 45N next Tue-Wed. Farther east, tropical storm Hilda and the remnants of T.D. Nine-E may push toward the area but there remains a large amount of spread in that evolution. Many models weaken the remnants to nothing more than a trough with only some lighter showers associated with it as only slightly higher PW values reach the islands around next Wednesday. Fracasso
