Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 333 AM EDT Fri Aug 06 2021 Valid 00Z Sat Aug 07 2021 - 00Z Sat Aug 14 2021 Weak troughing will slowly pass through the region over the next several days from east to west. Mid-level moisture will remain near to below normal (PWs around 1-1.5") into early next week resulting in most of the area drier than normal. Generally lighter windward/mauka showers are expected with some locally moderate amounts. With strong high pressure far north of Hawaii, trades will remain breezy into the weekend until the surface high moves farther northeast next week. Farther east, T.D. Hilda and T.S. Jimena will push toward the area but the model consensus weakens the remnants of both systems before getting past 150W. Slightly higher PW values should reach the islands around next Tue-Wed which may enhance some shower activity. Santorelli
