A mid/upper-level high is forecast to drift slowly westward to the
north of Hawaii through this weekend and early next week, while a
high pressure system at the surface shifts slowly eastward north
of the state. This will lead to easterly trade winds likely around
15 to 20 mph. This weekend, an increase in moisture is forecast as
a surface trough moves westward across the southern islands.
Higher chances of rain can be expected in windward areas of the
Big Island in particular. After that, generally quiet conditions
are forecast through much of next week, though moisture may
increase once again for the latter part of the week as ridging
eases a bit.
