Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 321 AM EDT Sat Oct 30 2021 Valid 00Z Sun Oct 31 2021 - 00Z Sun Nov 07 2021 A relatively dry and stable pattern is forecast over Hawaii through this weekend into next week. Model guidance agrees that light winds are expected aloft over Hawaii, while a couple of upper-level troughs and surface low pressure systems traverse eastward well to the north of the state (around 40-45N latitude) through early next week. This pattern will disturb typical easterly trade winds and produce light and variable winds instead, generally dominated by daytime sea breezes and nighttime land breezes. Moisture levels should remain at or somewhat below normal, and any fronts are expected to stall and dissipate north of the islands, so any rain showers will be focused over interior areas where sea breezes set up. More typical easterly trades are expected from midweek onward as surface high pressure builds in north of the state, leading to showers for windward-facing terrain. Early indications show an increase in moisture may occur by next Friday and Saturday, which we will continue to monitor. Tate
