Persistent upper-level ridging for Hawaii as well as surface high
pressure to the north of the state will lead to persistent
easterly trade winds through the rest of this week and into next
week. These moderate to locally breezy trades could bring isolated
rain showers to windward and mountain areas. Increased moisture is
currently located over the northern/western islands due to a
dissipated front there, which could linger into Friday and produce
enhanced shower activity particularly over Kauai and Oahu. Other
than this and a possible brief period of increased moisture for
the Big Island on Friday, a drier pattern is expected into the
middle of next week with normal to below normal levels of
moisture, but some windward and mountain showers cannot be ruled
out given the trade winds.
