Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 208 AM EST Fri Dec 10 2021 Valid 00Z Sat Dec 11 2021 - 00Z Sat Dec 18 2021 Models and ensembles reasonably agree that high pressure will establish itself to the north of Hawaii, drying out the pattern and leading to a more typical trade wind pattern through this weekend into early next week. This will equate to moderate to breezy trades and some scattered windward and mountain showers, but no widespread rainfall under upper ridging. By Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, guidance shows a weak cold front slowly passing southward through the state. This may lead to a temporary period of slightly enhanced moisture and some increase in showers. Breezy winds are possible behind the cold front into later next week with upper ridge erosion as a weakness aloft shifts over the state. Schichtel
