Generally light winds are expected over Hawaii over the next
several days, driven by land and sea breezes, as typical trade
winds do not set up given the lack of a strong surface high to the
north. This pattern could bring localized showers to favored sea
breeze areas, but overall conditions should be mostly dry over the
next few days without much available moisture. A front may stall
and weaken over the western islands late Friday/early Saturday and
locally increase cloud cover and moisture. Then, a possibly
stronger front could approach the western part of the state around
Tuesday and stall while drawing moisture from the ITCZ, so showers
may become more widespread by then in an otherwise fairly dry
pattern until late next week.
