Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 253 AM EST Sun Jan 09 2022 Valid 00Z Mon Jan 10 2022 - 00Z Mon Jan 17 2022 This week over Hawaii, generally light winds will favor sea and land breeze development while mainly dry conditions are expected, though with some occasional spotty showers. A weak cold front is forecast to make its way across the state and dissipate Monday into Tuesday, which could temporarily enhance cloud cover and moisture along and ahead of it, but will dry out dewpoints behind it for Tuesday and Wednesday especially in the northwestern islands. Moisture levels should rise closer to normal across the state around Thursday, but it is uncertain whether or not there will be any kind of forcing for increased shower activity. Then by Friday into the weekend, a stronger front could approach the islands, but recent model trends have shown it stalling to the north. How far south the front pushes has shown variability in model runs, so it will continue to be monitored, since rain could become more widespread along the front. This would be most likely over the northwestern islands. Tate
