Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 309 AM EST Mon Jan 10 2022 Valid 00Z Tue Jan 11 2022 - 00Z Tue Jan 18 2022 A cold front is forecast to move across Hawaii Monday into Tuesday while weakening, temporarily enhancing cloud cover and moisture ahead of it, along with the possibility of showers. Then dewpoints are expected to dry out somewhat behind it especially for the northwestern islands, while moderate trade winds set up. The pattern becomes more favorable for light and variable winds dominated by land and sea breezes for the latter part of the workweek, while moisture levels rise closer to normal and spotty showers are possible around Thursday. On Friday into Saturday, model guidance continues to show a front stalling to the north of the state and dissipating early next week, and by early next week easterly trade winds are forecast to develop once again. Overall, significant rainfall is not expected over the next week. Tate
