Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 215 AM EST Wed Jan 19 2022 Valid 00Z Thu Jan 20 2022 - 00Z Thu Jan 27 2022 Guidance remains quite consistent recently and a favored composite of reasonably well clustered models and ensembles indicates that a series of highly energetic Pacific storms over the next week within a storm track to the north of the islands. Hawaiian weather should remain generally benign. A front set to stall just to the north of the state today may bring some showers into the northern islands. A second front by the weekend seems more likely to sag showers across the state, leading into a drier post-frontal airmass into next week. This occurs as a closed low now settled to the east of the state is replaced closer to the islands by a new southward digging closed low. Schichtel
