Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 206 AM EST Thu Feb 03 2022 Valid 00Z Fri Feb 04 2022 - 00Z Fri Feb 11 2022 A series of cold fronts to the north of Hawaii will keep trade winds light to moderate and variable through Friday, with a more typical, breezy, and showery trade wind pattern returning for the weekend and lasting into the first half of next week. Early next week, the guidance is showing good agreement on an upper low stationed just to the east of Hawaii. While this likely presents little to no impact to most of Hawaii, it should at least bring an increase in moisture across the state resulting in a possible uptick of windward/coastal precipitation along eastern portions of the Big Island. By next Thursday, the upper low should retreat eastward allowing for upper ridging to build over the state and trade winds to weaken again. Santorelli
