A closed upper low now to the north of the state and upper
troughing underneath over the islands will exit the region today.
However, models and ensembles reasonably agree that a second
closed upper low will pass to the north of the state Monday into
Tuesday as modest moisture spreads back over the state ahead of a
trailing/weakening front that works toward the northern islands.
Upper level troughing should then be replaced over the state by
eastward spreading upper ridging mid-later week and next weekend
in a transition to a drier/limited windward terrain focusing
shower pattern with returning trades as surface high pressure
builds well northeast Hawaii.
