High pressure is expected to settle over the eastern Pacific this
weekend and persist for much of next week leading to an extended
period of moderate to breezy trade winds from the east-southeast
direction. A weak upper low over the state this weekend looks to
bring some increased moisture and showers towards the region.
Otherwise, typical showers for favorable eastern facing terrain is
expected, especially as upper ridging builds back in across the
state next week. The guidance shows a larger scale trough east of
the islands later next week, with a northern shortwave possibly
pushing across the state. Details of which and associated moisture
content remains uncertain, but this could bring another period of
more widespread showers across the southern half of the main
island chain by next weekend.
